someday

When you turn off the lights
I get stars in my eyes
Is this love?
Maybe someday
So don’t turn on the lights
I'll give you what you like

mirrors

aren't you somethin' to admire?
'cause your shine is somethin' like a mirror
and i can't help but notice
you reflect in this heart of mine
if you ever feel alone and
the glare makes me hard to find
just know that i'm always
parallel on the other side

'cause with your hand in my hand and a pocket full of soul
i can tell you there's no place we couldn't go
just put your hand on the glass
i'll be tryin' to pull you through
you just gotta be strong

'cause i don't wanna lose you now
i'm lookin' right at the other half of me
the vacancy that sat in my heart
is a space that now you hold
show me how to fight for now
and i'll tell you, baby, it was easy
comin' back here to you once i figured it out
you were right here all along

it's like you're my mirror
my mirror staring back at me
i couldn't get any bigger
with anyone else beside of me
and now it's clear as this promise
that we're making two reflections into one
'cause it's like you're my mirror
my mirror staring back at me, staring back at me

aren't you somethin', an original
'cause it doesn't seem merely a sample
and i can't help but stare, 'cause
i see truth somewhere in your eyes
i can't ever change without you
you reflect me, i love that about you
and if i could, i would look at us all the time

'cause with your hand in my hand and a pocket full of soul
i can tell you there's no place we couldn't go
just put your hand on the glass
i'll be tryin' to pull you through
you just gotta be strong

'cause i don't wanna lose you now
i'm lookin' right at the other half of me
the vacancy that sat in my heart
is a space that now you hold
show me how to fight for now
and i'll tell you, baby, it was easy
comin' back here to you once i figured it out
you were right here all along

it's like you're my mirror
my mirror staring back at me
i couldn't get any bigger
with anyone else beside of me
and now it's clear as this promise
that we're making two reflections into one
'cause it's like you're my mirror
my mirror staring back at me, staring back at me

yesterday is history
tomorrow's a mystery
i can see you lookin' back at me
keep your eyes on me
baby, keep your eyes on me

'cause i don't wanna lose you now
i'm lookin' right at the other half of me
the vacancy that sat in my heart
is a space that now you hold
show me how to fight for now (please show me, baby)
i'll tell you, baby, it was easy
comin' back here to you once i figured it out
you were right here all along

it's like you're my mirror
my mirror staring back at me
i couldn't get any bigger
with anyone else beside of me
and now it's clear as this promise
that we're making two reflections into one
'cause it's like you're my mirror
my mirror staring back at me, staring back at me

you are, you are the love of my life

now you're the inspiration for this precious song
and i just wanna see your face light up since you put me on
so now i say goodbye to the old me, it's already gone
and i can't wait wait wait wait wait to get you home
just to let you know, you are

you are, you are the love of my life

girl you're my reflection, all i see is you
my reflection, in everything i do
you're my reflection and all i see is you
my reflection, in everything i do

you are, you are the love of my life

who am i living for?

I can feel a phoenix inside of me
As I march alone to a different beat
Slowly swallowing down my fear, yeah yeah

I am ready for the road less traveled
Suiting up for my crowning battle
This test is my own cross to bare
But I will get there

It's never easy to be chosen, never easy to be called
Standing on the frontline when the bombs start to fall
I can see the heavens but I still hear the flames
Calling out my name

I can see the writing on the wall
I can't ignore this war
At the eh-end of it all
Who am I living for?

I can feel this light that's inside of me
Growing fast into a bolt of lightning
I know one spark will shock the world, yeah yeah

So I pray for a favour like Esther
I need your strength to handle the pressure
I know there will be sacrifice
But that's the price

It's never easy to be chosen, never easy to be called
Standing on the frontline when the bombs start to fall
I can see the heavens but I still hear the flames
Calling out my name

I can see the writing on the wall
I can't ignore this war
At the eh-end of it all
Who am I living for?

I can see the writing on the wall
I can't ignore this war
At the eh-end of it all
Who am I living for?

At the end, at the end
Who am I living for?
At the end, at the end
Who am I living for?

Heavy is the head that wears the crown
Don't let the greatness get you down
Heavy is the head that wears the crown
Don't let the greatness get you down, oh, oh yeah

I can see the writing on the wall
I can't ignore this war
At the eh-end of it all
Who am I living for?

I can see the writing on the wall
I can't ignore this war
At the eh-end of it all
Who am I living for?

At the end, at the end
Who am I living for?
At the end, at the end
Who am I living for?

dreams

as i do this for myself, you're going to do this with me
fight for a life we don't have to run away from
a life where we don't need an escape

maybe someday

Please wrap your drunken arms around me
And I'll let you call me yours tonight
Cause slightly broken's just what I need
And if you give me what I want
Then I'll give you what you like
Please tell me I'm your one and only
Or lie and say at least tonight
I've got a brand new cure for lonely
And if you give me what I want
Then I'll give you what you like
When you turn off the lights
I get stars in my eyes
Is this love?
Maybe someday
So don't turn on the lights
I'll give you what you like
Emotions aren't that hard to borrow
When love's a word you've never learned
And in a room of empty bottles
If you don't give me what I want
Then you'll get what you deserve
When you turn off the lights
I get stars in my eyes
Is this love?
Maybe someday
I've got this scene in my head
I'm not sure how it ends
Is it love?
Maybe one day
So don't turn on the lights
I'll give you what you like
I'll give you what you like
I'll give you one last chance to hold me
If you give me one last cigarette
By now it's early in the morning
Now that I gave you what you want
All I want is to forget
When you turn off the lights
I get stars in my eyes
Is this love?
Maybe someday
I've got this scene in my head
I'm not sure how it ends
Is it love?
Maybe one day
So don't turn on the lights
I'll give you what you like.

the meaning of life

so we've never quite figured this one out

do you live this life for others?

or for yourself?

why are we here. if we pleased everyone else and made them happy was it worth living?

what if i only did what i want and hurt everyone else? was that worth it?

it's probably something in between. but getting that right. aye, there's the rub.

what if you made promises without all the information?

what if you learned and changed?

what if you wouldn't be here without the decisions you made?

where do we go from here? when do the trumpets cheer? why is the path unclear?
when we know home is near?
understand we'll go hand-in-hand but we'll walk alone in fear. tell me! where do we go from here?
